Why’d you start when it could eat you
From inside and through the tissue
Tell them all that its on purpose
When you know that they will never see your lies
Does it keep you up at night?
I just need a new friend
To let down for some time while I get back
Could’ve been something that you know
You’ll always want by your side when you get back
Holding on had been so easy
When you know what keeps you sane
It’s got a certain flavor
And it holds up in the rain
I’ll show you down for some time while I get back
Should’ve been something that you know
You’ll always want by your side when you get back
I can see it clearly but I don’t think its really
Right for my mind to back out
Should’ve been something that you know
You’ll always want by your side when you get back
I just need a new friend to let down for some time while I get back
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

West Virginia trio showcase strident country rock anchored in bold, anthemic songcraft and deliciously twangy tones. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 18, 2024
Dammit every track makes me smile. How did you do that? If a friend recommends this album to you, hang on to them because they're just as fabulously messed up as you are. I'd like to thank my bank for allowing me to buy things online again. Thank you. Everyone. Thanks. duskbringer
